The Weeknd Delays New Album 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

Updated Jan 15

The Weeknd has postponed the release of his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. Originally scheduled for January 24, 2025, the album will now be released on January 31. The artist, Abel Tesfaye, announced the delay on Instagram, expressing solidarity with those impacted by the fires. He also canceled his one-off concert at the Rose Bowl, which was set for January 25. "This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time," he stated. The album, which completes a trilogy alongside After Hours and Dawn FM, is expected to be The Weeknd's final album under his current stage name. It will feature collaborations with artists like Playboi Carti, Anitta, Max Martin, and Pharrell Williams. The wildfires have already caused significant destruction, with 24 confirmed deaths and over 150,000 residents evacuated.
