A Fresh Take on 'Songs of a Lost World' Arrives This June
The Cure have announced the release of Mixes of a Lost World, a remix album reimagining tracks from their 2024 release, Songs of a Lost World. Set for release on 13 June 2025, the album features reinterpretations by a diverse group of artists, including Four Tet, Chino Moreno of Deftones, Paul Oakenfold, Mogwai, Orbital, Trentemøller, Mura Masa, Daniel Avery, and many others.
The project was conceived after frontman Robert Smith received unsolicited remixes of tracks from Songs of a Lost World that he found inspiring. This led to the idea of having the entire album reinterpreted by various artists, resulting in a 24-track collection that spans multiple genres and styles.
Mixes of a Lost World will be available in multiple formats, including a deluxe triple CD and cassette edition featuring all 24 remixes, as well as a standard double CD and cassette version with 16 tracks. The album includes remixes of songs such as "Alone," "I Can Never Say Goodbye," "Endsong," and "A Fragile Thing."
Proceeds from the album will benefit War Child UK, a charity supporting children affected by conflict. This charitable aspect adds a meaningful dimension to the release, aligning with The Cure's history of supporting humanitarian causes.
Fans can look forward to a fresh auditory experience as Mixes of a Lost World offers a new perspective on The Cure's latest work, showcasing the versatility and enduring appeal of their music through the lens of contemporary artists.
