Updated Jan 28
Rapper Snoop Dogg has responded to widespread backlash following his performance at the Crypto Ball, a pre-inauguration event celebrating Donald Trump's election. In an Instagram Live video, Snoop defended his decision, emphasizing love and unity despite facing significant criticism from fans. "For all that hate, I'm going to answer with love," Snoop stated while smoking and listening to gospel music. He asserted his identity, declaring, "Still a Black man, still 100 percent Black" and urged critics to "Get your life right, stop worrying about mine."
The performance sparked outrage among fans, with many accusing the rapper of selling out. Snoop reportedly lost over 500,000 Instagram followers after the event. Despite the criticism, he remained defiant, stating, "I ain't going nowhere" and seemingly unbothered by the negative response.
The Crypto Ball, attended by prominent Trump supporters, featured performances by Snoop and other artists like Rick Ross and Soulja Boy.
