Min Hee-jin Denies Involvement in NewJeans' Contract Termination Amid K-Pop Industry Controversy
Updated Dec 06
Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of HYBE's sublabel ADOR, has vehemently denied allegations of orchestrating the contract termination of K-pop group NewJeans. The controversy erupted after NewJeans announced their decision to leave ADOR, citing mistreatment and manipulation by the agency.
Despite reports suggesting Min's involvement in the group's actions, including a live broadcast and public appearances criticizing HYBE, Min's representatives have labeled these claims as "completely untrue" and based on "one-sided claims and personal speculation without verifying facts."
Min has filed complaints with the police against former and incumbent HYBE executives, as well as reporters from Dispatch, accusing them of defamation and using illegally obtained private conversations to create negative public opinion. She has also notified HYBE of her intention to exercise a put option for her shares in ADOR, which could result in a significant payout if resolved in her favor.
Min's denial comes amidst a protracted dispute that has captured significant media attention, highlighting issues of trust, mistreatment, and contractual breaches within the K-pop industry. NewJeans' contract termination with ADOR has been finalized, marking a significant development in this ongoing controversy.
