Kevin Cronin Reflects as REO Speedwagon Announces End of Touring
Updated Dec 18
Kevin Cronin, the iconic lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of REO Speedwagon, has been at the heart of the band's success since his initial joining in 1972. Cronin first contributed to the album R.E.O./T.W.O. but left shortly after due to creative differences. He rejoined the band in 1976 and became a pivotal figure, writing many of their most popular tracks, including Keep On Loving You, Can't Fight This Feeling, and Roll With The Changes.
However, in a recent and unexpected turn of events, REO Speedwagon announced that they will cease touring effective January 1, 2025, due to "irreconcilable differences" between Cronin and bassist Bruce Hall. Cronin has expressed his deep sadness and frustration, stating that he never wanted the band to end and was outvoted in the decision.
Despite this, Cronin is set to continue his music career, embarking on a solo tour starting January 25, 2025, and participating in the "Brotherhood of Rock" tour with Styx and Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles. This marks a new chapter for Cronin, who remains committed to his music and his fans.
