Chappell Roan Wins UK National Radio Sound of 2025 Award

US pop sensation Chappell Roan has been crowned the winner of a UK National radio Sound of 2025 award, marking a significant milestone in her rapidly rising music career. The 26-year-old singer, who released her critically acclaimed debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in 2023, was selected by a prestigious panel of over 180 industry experts, including Sir Elton John, Dua Lipa, and Sam Smith.
Roan's victory comes after a breakthrough year that saw her top the UK albums chart, headline major festivals, and receive six Grammy nominations. Jack Saunders from BBC Radio 1 praised Roan, declaring, "No one deserves this accolade more than Chappell Roan. She was the most exciting artist of the last 12 months and is now set to be the artist of the next 12 months."
The Sound of 2025 top five also includes Ezra Collective, Barry Can't Swim, Myles Smith, and English Teacher.
